Creatinine was measured in the pre and postoperative period. Pre and postoperative estimated GFR were calculated using the CKD Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-Epi) glomerular filtration equation

Functional renal preservation was assessed through the comparison of pre-operative and early postoperative eGFR, which was calculated using the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration formula. The early postoperative eGFR was based on an sCr measurement obtained after the peak sCr within the first 3 days of surgery.
