The bladder is filled with diluted intravenous contrast material (A). The distal J of the double-J ureteric stent is grabbed (B). The distal ureteric stent is cannulated with a hydrophilic 0.035-inch guidewire, which was introduced through the stent to the renal pelvis (C). The distal J of the opposite ureteric stent is grabbed (D). The ureteric stent is removed, and a 5F Kumpe catheter is advanced over the hydrophilic wire into the renal pelvis. A pyelogram was obtained after injecting contrast material through the catheter (E). An 8F DJ ureteric stent is advanced into the collecting system through the stiff wire (F)
